Junior Roller Derby is a Non-Contact Co-Ed program open to girls and boys ages 7 to 18 years. Using the rules borrowed from our big sister league, the South Simcoe Rebel Rollers. The Barrie Junior Roller skating program offers a chance for youth to become the future stars and officials of the track! We promote healthy learning and encourage personal development in a sport that is not only fun and competitive but encourages healthy active lives throughout any age.
Becoming a part of the Barrie roller derby community has been a complete game-changer for our daughter. As a child who always felt a little out of place and unsure of who she is, roller derby has provided an opportunity like no other to find herself. After nearly a year in the program we've witnessed a much happier and more confident girl with so much of her achievements linked to her participation in roller derby. Kids learn a fun sport in a safe and positive environment thanks to the phenomenal, dedicated coaching staff. The entire program is lively, energetic and inclusive. Barrie Junior Roller Derby is a great alternative for kids who aren't interested in mainstream sports. We look forward to a bright future with BJRD!Type your paragraph here.

My daughter has had the best time at junior derby. It's built confidence, strength and social skills along with a little patience. With her ASD diagnoses, it's not always easy having her in a large group setting of children as her social skills are still developing but at BJRD she's found a place among the team and is accepted as herself. Her beautiful spirit has been brightened by not only her teamates but also by coach Slam and the rest of the fantastic people that come out and work with the kids. I recommend for any kid/parent to come out and watch a practice and see if it's a good fit for them. The excitement and smiles are infectious.
